Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, can be performed on the upper and lower eyelids. This surgery is most often performed to remove excess skin from the upper eyelid, or to tighten the lower eyelid and remove “bags” from under the eyes. These surgeries are typically done under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation.

Surgery can also be performed to correct “droopy” upper eyelids, known as “ptosis” repair. This can be done on the external or internal sides of the eyelids, depending on the patient’s needs and desired amount of correction.
